Evidence suggests the two burglaries are connected and were likely committed by an organized burglary crew comprised of Chilean Nationals. The Sheriff’s Office is asking residents to call the Sheriff’s Dispatch Center at (805)654-9511 or 911 to report any suspicious vehicles that are unknown to the area. Chilean Crews typically operate with 3 to 4 members, utilizing rental cars, typically sedans or small SUVs, and commit the burglaries during the mid-day hours. However, residents are encouraged to report any suspicious vehicles or activities, regardless of the time of day. Patrol deputies are conducting extra patrols in the area. Attention Home Owners: In order to better support you the homeowners, we have added a support page to our BCEHOA website . Here you will be able to create non-emergency trouble tickets where you can tell us about problems you are having in the association. The ticket will be forwarded to the appropriate person to handle the problem and all results will be posted back to the ticket. We are doing this now because the Metroplitan Water District is offering rebates up to $3/sqft of lawn and $35/irrigation controller , and should help us save on both water and landscaping costs. We are starting the conversions with 2 test areas, the lawn area between 12049 & 12057 Haven Crest Street and 11847 & 11851 Maple Crest Street. Beginning this week, the grass will be killed and the area will be prepared for the new plants & irrigation system. Attached is an artists rendition of what the areas will look like when the conversion is completed.
